Our company is looking for an Electrical Construction Manager for infrastructure projects in USA. The assignment is on site. We are preferably looking for a local candidate. Full proficiency in English is a must.

Hierarchical Dependence: Project Manager

Functional Dependence: Construction

Location: Norfolk. Virginia

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Project Director, the construction manager has to plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the construction activities. The project activities include relocation of power lines, including MV and LV in different infrastructures in operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget.
  • Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates.
  • Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Develop and implement quality control programs.
  • Represent company on matters such as business services and union contracts negotiation.
  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
  • Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions.
  • Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


• Excellent technical, organizational, managerial and planning skills.


• Team leader with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with well developed communication and negotiation skills.


• Previous experience in electrical utilities.


• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Experience/Qualifications:


• Demonstrated related experience; large project ($300M+ ) experience is a plus.


• 15 years of combined experience as a Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, Construction Manager or Project Engineer on large projects, and at least 5 years' experience as a Construction Manager or equivalent.


• A graduate of a 4-year accredited college or university program in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or Building Science.


• Comfortable working in a challenging environment.
