Job Title: Construction Manager

Reports To Project Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This position is responsible for the execution of projects to be completed safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards of INTREN and its customers. Responsibilities also include overseeing the efficient use of personnel, tools, and equipment to maximize production, as well as maintaining a positive working relationship with clients and customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in the establishment, and ensure compliance, of departments' short-term and long-term goals overall corporate objectives.
  • Develop project schedules, plan materials, and purchase orders, ensuring work is within project scope.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules. Create, update, and analyze detailed budgets, including payment approvals (billing & invoices), budget tracking and cash flow reports.
  • Create annual construction budgets, determining both immediate and long-term requirements to preserve asset and maintain building integrity.
  • Provide technical consulting and services to Property Management staff for any and all construction related matters and coordinate to assure minimal disruption to building operations.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and strong computer literacy. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task are essential. Must be a self-starter and have the ability to organize and prioritize work.

  • Bachelor's Degree required in architecture, engineering, construction management or some related field.
  • Knowledge of advanced functions of Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, Power Point, and Internet Explorer.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and writing skills.
  • Must be able to comprehend and communicate information that is technical in nature.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with great ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Well organized, team player, professional and energetic.
