Sr. Construction Manager - Telecom Deployment
The Sr. Construction Manager oversees all technical and execution aspects of telecom equipment deployment at assigned venues. Responsibilities include site evaluation, supplier coordination, scope and schedule management, material distribution, construction oversight, and compliance.
Key Duties:
- Conduct feasibility walks and site assessments using iBwave.
- Coordinate venue access, schedule planning, and identify potential construction risks.
- Review and develop SOW and BOM with RF teams; manage project execution and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Evaluate job suitability, manage construction sequencing, resolve access and material issues, and track project progress.
- Lead site audits, ensure safety and quality compliance, and approve completed work.
- Interface with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and communicate project status.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to ASPs, RCMs, and field teams.
- Support RF design alignment, especially with small cell and DOT system requirements.
- Collaborate with Remote and Senior Construction Managers on reporting, issue resolution, and performance feedback.
- This role requires strong project management, technical knowledge, and field experience to ensure efficient and safe deployment of telecommunications infrastructure.
- Minimum of 7+ years of related work/ industry experience.
- MCA Small Cell RAN systems (DOT, PDAS, ODAS)
- Experience with providing design solutions and working with RF to optimize the solution.
- Ability to determine site feasibility, as well as site design consulting as needed.
- Direct knowledge of working in both large and small venues.
- Experience in managing and directing general contractors, construction scope estimation, etc. (In-building, Backhaul, Maintenance Work).
- Knowledge of and ability to enforce Ericsson and customer construction and quality standards.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting practices and techniques.
- Understanding of site acquisition, zoning, permitting, landlord negotiations, leasing laws, jurisdictional requirements, and environmental compliance.
- Ability to interface with customers, property owners, and other internal and external ancillary personnel as needed.
- Basic knowledge of contracts (leasing, vendor facing, customer facing) and budgets.
- Understanding of EHS statutory requirements impacting Ericsson in the local market.
- Completion of approved OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) 30-hour course for telecommunications industry.
- Field experience in managing general contractors, construction scope estimation, etc.
