Working closely with Senior Construction Manager and Director of Construction, managing all aspects of construction projects, taking projects from Cradle to grave, ensuring performance, safety, project turnover, cost control and customer satisfaction.
Providing leadership, direction and fostering relationships with general contractors, trade partners and other essential project vendors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead projects from inception through turnover, with emphasis on preconstruction, construction, commissioning and turnover phases. Take leadership from Design Manager at GC mobilization.
- Ensure project performance certainty across construction types (ground up, remodels, renovations, fit outs).
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement construction management best practices.
- Build collaborative relationships with construction partners, trade contractors, authorities, and vendors.
- Manage project budgets throughout all phases, using cost data to inform design decisions.
- Direct multiple external vendors per project.
- Develop company processes and best practices within areas of responsibility.
- Create tools to drive innovation in project delivery.
- Administer contracts effectively, ensuring proper documentation and internal controls.
- Verify quality and schedule compliance through work inspections.
- Pursue professional development opportunities.
- Provide subject-matter expertise and timely status reporting.
- Work closely with Design Manager to ensure proper communication with all stakeholders.
- Support sales team during customer acquisition, ensuring technical deliverables.
- Manage customer interface through fit out design, construction and integration.
- Align project execution with business directives.
- Maintain focus on continuous improvement, creativity, efficiency and innovation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related fields
- 5+ years experience in managing commercial construction with a strong data center experience.
- Understanding of various project delivery methods including design-build and design-bid-build
