SUMMARY OF POSITION:


Dream Finders Homes Intern program is a paid summer internship for students seeking career growth and development in the Homebuilding Industry. The Construction Management intern will be assigned to the Construction Department, with the primary responsibility of overseeing the construction of our homes in the field. The Intern will also be exposed to multiple functions and levels in the organization through shadowing other departments. The Intern will also attend process improvement training and lead a process improvement project with defined outcomes.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Assist the construction team with managing job site safety, quality, and schedule for assigned projects from pre-home construction to closeout.
  • Assist with setting up job site logistics, field coordination, and project schedule.
  • Ensure adequate materials are delivered and available for installation in proper sequence (checks counts and quality of products delivered).
  • Schedule and manage subcontractors to complete punch lists.
  • Inspect the quality of the work performed.
  • Maintain a safe, professional, and organized job site.
  • Use project management and scheduling software effectively.
  • Support administrative tasks, including organizing files, scheduling, and managing communications.
  • Help prepare reports, presentations, and other documents.
  • Participate in meetings and provide input on strategies and decisions.
  • Lead or assist in a project management and process improvement project, focusing on efficiency and effectiveness within the department.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

  • Currently enrolled in a related field, e.g., business, engineering, or construction management program.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or other relevant software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
