Position Description: Estimator
Estimators support the senior and lead estimators in the development of subcontracting costs and estimates by doing trade partner outreach, quantitative take offs, document organization and research. They develop estimates for self-performed work. Estimators are responsible for the development and monitoring of trade partner scopes of work and self-perform pricing with the architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
Candidates should have experience with process, mechanical and electrical estimating on large complex projects such as: Semiconductor, data centers, cleanrooms, mission critical, energy/power generation facilities, or similar large complex industrial & commercial projects.
Position Qualifications:
- A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture or construction management, or six years of related experience without a degree.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in estimating on large commercial construction projects.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Project types: Semiconductor, data centers, cleanrooms, mission critical, energy/power generation facilities, or similar large complex industrial & commercial projects
- Possess good communications skills and be detail oriented.
- Experience with CSI format, conceptual estimating, hard bid, design build estimates.
- Experience in computer skills and software programs such as On-Screen Take-Off, Bluebeam, Procore, Building Connected, SAGE, Assemble, ISqFt, Winest/Bid2Win
- Early learning of format and procedures.
- Good Excel skills.
- Understanding of subcontractor/supplier relationships

Essential Duties:

- Read and understand plans and specifications.
- Prepare a thorough take-off of quantities for scopes of work.
- Review trade partner pricing and prepare a comprehensive evaluation of trade partner proposals, scope risks and opportunities on a proposal summary.
- Understand trade partner/supplier relationships to support the ongoing success of the company.
- Clearly communicate with trade partners and present risks and scope to management.
- Demonstrate the ability to be organized and detail oriented.
