Client Details

This client is a General Contractor who has been around for decades in Kansas City, MO. They have created a positive name in the market and have many return clients leaving them with a big and continuously expanding pipeline. Our client is looking for a dynamic Construction Estimator who wants to stay and grow with the company long term.



Description

  • Visit site and record information about drainage, topography, and access.
  • Collect data to estimate costs for both current and future products.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, personnel and construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Create estimates for management.
  • Have the ability to read blueprints and other documents to prepare all estimates for time, cost, materials and labor.
  • Consult with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on all changes made to cost estimates.
  • Assess the cost effectiveness of all products, services and actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
  • Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors and subcontractors.
  • Set up cost monitoring systems.
  • Conduct negotiations and maintain tendering process.
  • Prepare and maintain complete directory of contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Prepare all cost and expenditure statements.
  • Prepare all material and labor requirements.

Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Architecture).
  • 7+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction or with trades.
  • Experience with preparing bids.
  • Has hands-on experience estimating projects based off of blue prints.
  • Has excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ground-up commercial or industrial experience required.
