Job Overview:
Romero is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Business Development / Sales Manager in our industry to work with the Chief Operating Officer, to advance objectives and strategies in support of overall corporate development goals. In this role, you will develop new opportunities relative to a particular client, group of clients, geographical area, or type of project; search for new, and potential future projects using Bid search tools such as, SamRadar, AGC, Planet Bids, and other means as well as establish and maintain effective contact with existing clients while identifying new work leads and directly manage lead follow-up. The role will also assist in estimating the costs and preparing bids for grading, paving, curb, gutter, sidewalk, and other site development projects. You will work closely with the project management team to ensure accurate, competitive, and timely estimates for all assigned projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the concrete and paving construction markets in San Diego and San Bernardino Counties, along with the Inland Empire. Your ability to analyze plans, perform cost analysis, and negotiate with clients, subcontractors and suppliers will be key to ensuring the success of our bidding process and overall project execution. (This will be a non-union position.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to determine the scope of work for grading, paving, curb, gutter, sidewalk, and other site development construction projects.
- Analyze topographic, geotechnical, and other project-specific reports to ensure an accurate understanding of site requirements.
- Monitor material costs and market trends to ensure estimates remain competitive and accurate.
- Provide detailed reports on estimate breakdowns, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum of 5-10 years of sales and estimating experience with a proven track record
- Relevant trade certifications or technical training in construction estimating, construction and project management will be considered.
- Strong knowledge of grading, paving, curb, gutter, sidewalk construction processes.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
- Bid2Win Suite & Means Book experience a plus.

Compensation Range
- $125k - $150k plus incentives with a vehicle
