Controller

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5 years of experience in construction accounting, financial management, or as a Controller in the construction or remodeling industry.


  • Strong understanding of job costing, WIP (Work in Progress) reporting, and contract revenue recognition.


  • Proficiency in construction accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage 300, Viewpoint, or Foundation.


  • Knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards for the construction industry.


  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for remodeling or general contracting firms.


  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment with multiple ongoing jobs.


  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred but not required).



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in high-end residential or commercial remodeling.


  • Familiarity with lien waivers, progress billing, AIA documentation, and subcontractor compliance.


  • Knowledge of construction financing, insurance, and risk management.
