Job Details

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our commercial and industrial general contracting team. The ideal candidate will support the Project Manager in overseeing construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and cost estimates
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to ensure efficient project execution
  • Prepare and review contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders
  • Manage the submittal process, including reviewing and tracking subcontractor submittals
  • Assist in the bidding process, including soliciting and evaluating bids from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Participate in project meetings and help prepare progress reports for clients and stakeholders
  • Support the implementation of safety protocols and quality control measures on job sites
  • Assist in the management of project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, and closeout processes
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and Superintendent to resolve issues and maintain project momentum

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 2-5 years of experience in commercial and industrial construction, preferably with a general contractor
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Familiarity with construction industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations
