Leading Healthcare Architectural firm is seeking an experienced Construction Administrator to fill a position in Scottsdale, Arizona. Candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the construction administration phase of the project and be accountable for accuracy of documents and code compliance as well as maintaining client relations and satisfying all client needs for a project.
Responsibilities Include:
- Accumulates, evaluates, and presents feedback information related to necessary changes in construction documents to relevant parties.
- Monitors project for construction document and code compliance.
- Coordinates with the architecture/engineering team to ensure project completion follows contract documents and state code.
- Travel to project sites as needed.
- Participation in pre-construction meetings and planning.
- Review of contractor bids and qualifications.
- Reviews and verifies contractor documents for approval.
- Review and manage Requests for Information (RFI) and submittals.
- Review and approval of material substitution requests.
- Conducts on-site observations to monitor quality and progress of work
- Prepares required field reports and resolves construction administration issues that may arise.
- Prepares punch-list and close-out procedures and performs post-construction services as needed.
- Reviews project as-builts and other post-construction documents for approval.
- Manage, monitor, and report progress of the budget, schedule, and quality control of projects.
- Manage project risk and conflict resolution.
- Attend project OAC meetings as required.
- Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.
- Training and/or mentoring of other staff
- Other related activities include development and improvement of the contract administration process with emphasis on efficiency, quality assurance, and rapid project close-out.
Desired Skills, Education, and Experience
- Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, or related field
- Professional registration, CSI, and LEED certifications preferred
- Minimum 5 years' progressive experience in Construction Administration
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of entire project delivery process; primarily of Healthcare projects
- Knowledge of architectural building systems, accessibility guidelines and QA/QC process
- Strong leadership and adaptability skills in a team-based and collaborative approach
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, construction project management softwares; strong Revit skills preferred.
- Understanding and knowledge of construction methods, code compliance and permitting requirements and ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents.
- Ability to balance and prioritize time
- Proven ability to tackle complex challenges and mediate conflicts
- High level emotional intelligence with an assertive yet calm nature is important.
