We are seeking a qualified and experienced
Construction Administrator to support the design and construction of the
VA Medical Center project in San Juan, Puerto Rico, spanning
six years. As a Construction Administrator, you will manage the construction process, ensuring all work aligns with the project's specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the construction site, including coordinating with contractors, reviewing submittals, and tracking project progress. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining quality control, monitoring budgets, and ensuring compliance with building codes, ultimately supporting the successful completion of the project.
Responsibilities: - Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure proper work synchronization.
- Serve as the liaison between the client and contractors for RFIs, drawings, and submittals.
- Review and analyze construction costs and project schedules.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with project specifications.
- Oversee and manage the Quality Assurance program, ensuring adherence to project plans and regulations.
- Review contractor work for deficiencies and propose corrective actions as needed.
- Provide technical guidance during pre-construction and construction meetings.
- Assist in managing project budgets and tracking construction-related costs.
- Monitor safety practices on-site for OSHA compliance.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with building codes and specifications.
- Track and report on construction progress, recommending improvements as needed.
- Review contractor submittals to align with design and operational needs.
- Manage and resolve construction-related issues with timely solutions.
- Coordinate with other project teams and stakeholders to ensure system and operational integration.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for all construction-related activities and decisions.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position.
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree or 10+ years of construction experience (subject to review with a detailed dossier).
- Experience in large-scale or medical facility projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, including Quality Assurance, Safety, Time, Cost, Change, and Information Management.
- Familiarity with General and Sub-contractor operations and building construction management.
- Skilled in monitoring construction quality, identifying deficiencies, and ensuring compliance with construction documents.
- Ability to analyze project schedules, costs, specifications, and baseline schedules to assess work value.
- OSHA 10-hour Safety Training completed.
- Spanish fluency preferred.
