We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting within our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, financial analysis, and team leadership. This role requires excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple accounting functions efficiently in a construction environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including job cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and industry-specific accounting standards.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes for construction projects.
- Develop and implement financial controls, policies, and procedures specific to construction accounting.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and job cost analysis in collaboration with project managers and senior management.
- Monitor cash flow, project costs, and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and bonding agents.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide strategic recommendations for project cost management.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations related to the construction industry.
