Job Details

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant with prior experience in the construction industry to support the financial management of ongoing and upcoming projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in project accounting, job costing, and working with construction-related ERP systems. While experience with Viewpoint Vista is preferred, we welcome candidates who have used similar ERP systems and are eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle project accounting for multiple construction projects, including setup, budget tracking, cost reporting, and close-out.
Collaborate closely with project managers, estimators, and site supervisors to ensure accurate cost allocation and timely reporting.
Monitor and reconcile job cost reports and project budgets on a regular basis.
Process and track subcontractor payments, vendor invoices, change orders, and project-related billings.
Assist with preparing monthly project financial reports, WIP schedules, and forecasting cash flow needs.
Ensure compliance with contract terms, billing schedules, and lien releases.
Support month-end close activities and audit preparations as needed.
Maintain documentation and records for audits and internal controls.

Qualifications:
3+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in construction or project-based environments.
Solid understanding of job cost accounting, progress billing, and construction contract terms.
Experience with Vista by Viewpoint strongly preferred, but candidates with other ERP (e.g., Sage, CMiC, Procore, JD Edwards) will be considered.
Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a deadline-driven environment.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
