Under the general supervision of the Conservation District Chair, the Office Administrator assists agricultural producers, forest landowners, schools and towns in conserving our natural resources and implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs) through education, workshops and tours.
Performs various professional and administrative duties for the Grafton County Conservation District including monthly meeting preparation and financial reporting, developing annual work plan, budget and required reports. Responsible for fund-raising activities including annual plant sale. Prepares and participates in educational activities including School to Farm Days and Envirothon. Prepares fair exhibits and quarterly newsletters. Maintains conservation district website.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications include: Knowledge of administrative skills equivalent to completion of an Associate's degree and one to three years of related experience, knowledge of environmental/natural resource education in soils, agriculture, forestry, and/or wildlife or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional qualifications: Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are a must; ability to work independently; ability to take direction; ability to work with the public. Familiarity with grant writing and management, familiarity with Microsoft Office and related computer programs.
