The Configuration Management Specialist is essential in overseeing and maintaining the configuration of aerospace products throughout their lifecycle. The ideal candidate will ensure all engineering, design, and manufacturing changes are accurately documented, reviewed, and approved to support our commitment to quality, compliance, and reliability.


Some of the Responsibilities of the Configuration Management Specialist include:

  • Manage the configuration control process for products, ensuring the proper creation, revision, and approval of engineering documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and current configuration management records in alignment with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Change Management team to coordinate and facilitate Change Control Board (CCB) meetings.
  • Review, assess, and approve proposed product configuration changes, ensuring timely and efficient implementation.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards such as AS9100 and applicable government regulations.
  • Conduct internal configuration audits and support external audits as required.
  • Provide training and support to cross-functional teams on configuration management tools and best practices.
  • Generate reports and metrics related to configuration status, change activities, and audit results.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance configuration management efficiency.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and hazard-free work environment and report any unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong attention to detail.

Some of the Requirements/Qualifications of the Configuration Management Specialist include:

  • In-depth knowledge of configuration management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with configuration management software; proficiency in ERP and PLM systems is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of configuration management experience within the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
  • Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII) is a plus.
