The Board of Education and San Diego Unified School District is seeking candidates with enthusiasm and interest working in the Education sector supporting high level senior administrators as a Confidential Administrative Assistant II supporting our mission of "ensuring the success of all students by supporting and empowering a diverse workforce." The ideal candidate has knowledge of and has implemented local, state, or federal statutes and regulations regarding public school districts, has participated in open, public meetings and is a rational problem solver who can respond to a variety of situations and make decisions without delay.
The Confidential Administrative Assistant II - Board Services will perform independent and highly responsible administrative duties to support elected Board of Education members (including Student Board members) in fulfillment of their public office responsibilities by providing support, accountability, accessibility, and transparency; work collaboratively with the Superintendent of Public Education, executive and cabinet level staff, and Board Advisory committees on goals, objectives, special projects, and activities.

Incumbent must be available during regular District business hours; however, flexibility in availability is necessary in response to the often emergent needs of the district and Trustees
This is a promotional/open opportunity, which means that current monthly-salaried employees receive precedence over other candidates on the eligible list.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to graduation from a recognized four-year college or university with a degree in business or public administration and three (3) years of recent, related experience. California Notary preferred.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid California driver's license and availability of private transportation may be required for some positions in this job class (mileage expense allowance provided).
