Position Purpose: To assist in the overall efficient operation of the Convention Services Department. Responsible for the efficient and professional coordination of any assigned convention or meeting group and to assist clients by utilizing all hotel resources to guest satisfaction.
Essential Functions: (Average Percent of Time) - Perform administrative duties relevant to account responsibilities including preparation of banquet checks in compliance with corporate guidelines. Serve as the "on the floor" liaison between the Sales and Catering Department, ensuring Banquet Event Order information is accurately executed as stipulated, working with the Banquet and Audio-Visual Departments and following all HSB and Hilton Brand Standards.
- Communicate with all departments including Sales & Catering, Front Office, Security, F&B Outlets and Recreation regarding changes in groups schedule of events, service opportunities or challenges. Establish rapport with and entertain meeting planners while promoting hotel facilities and services. Conduct walking site inspections throughout property when required.
- Attend scheduled hotel meetings. Communicate client feedback with department heads. Conduct routine maintenance punch lists for Engineering Department.
- Document tracking of group daily activity report.
Supportive Functions: In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.
- Assist banquet staff in room set up as necessary.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability: The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- Knowledge of lighting and sound equipment and usage.
- Ability to utilize a computer system.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Able to lift, grasp, carry and/or push up to 200lbs.
- Ability to work flexible schedule, as well as being able to work shift standing on feet and walking throughout hotel or sitting for long periods of time.
Qualification Standards: Education: High school diploma required. Four-year college degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year hotel experience, preferably banquets or catering.
Licenses or certificates: None required.
Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (Specific standards available)
