Job Summary The CON Recruitment and Retention Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of student retention and recruitment activities for undergraduate and graduate programs in the College of Nursing. Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: STUDENT RETENTION: Assess and provide strategies, activities, and service referrals for student retention including tutoring strategies and developing a referral program for campus resources. Collect, review and analyze data collaboratively with the Program Directors, on the impact of interventions on student outcomes who have received educational assistance. Complete an annual report on the number of students supported, progression of students, and number retained. Arrange for tutors for the key courses in each program, orient the tutors to the timesheet process, and manage the completion of their timesheets by the campus deadline to ensure payroll is met. STUDENT RECRUITMENT: Attend on-campus and off-campus recruitment events/fairs. Collaborate with the Program Directors and Managers in coordinating student recruitment events, including planning, implementation, and coordinating events such as national/state/local conventions, open houses, information sessions, and closer look tours. Develop public relations and partnerships within the enterprise, community agencies, healthcare institutions and educational institutions for recruitment purposes and development of pipeline programs. Serve on student recruitment and retention related committees. Generate annual reports on the number of events, number of applicants from the events, and number of applicants who matriculated. BUDGET: Work collaboratively with the Office Administrator to purchase recruitment items, banners, and tablecloths. Work collaboratively with the Office Administrator in completing travel authorizations and expense reports based on the University policies. Create an annual budget for recruitment and retention events. PRE-NURSING SOCIETY: Coordinate with the President of the Pre-Nursing Society to provide regular presentations from the CON faculty and staff. OTHER DUTIES: Participate in cross-training in the Office of Student Affairs. Maintain accurate and up-to-date desk references and SOPs for the position. Assist with events as needed (i.e. orientation, open houses, convocation, white coat, scholarship ceremony, etc.). Perform all other job-related duties and/or activities as needed and/or directed to support the CON. Required Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited college or university with two years of higher education experience including student recruitment and/or retention, OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with five years of higher education experience including student recruitment and/or retention. Must have valid driver's license and ability to travel including occasional weekend and evening work assignments. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with Banner or other similar database systems. Experience working with student groups and developing student leadership, professional, and peer-to-peer mentoring programs and developing support networks. Excellent project management skills.
