Job Title: Image Quality Engineer III

Duration: 12 Months

Location: Redmond, WA, 98052


Summary:

  • In this role, you will work with a team of scientists & engineers, using internally developed simulation tools to predict system level performance of novel products and prototypes. Analysis of the simulation results will be used to directly improve product/prototype performance.

Top 3 must-have HARD skills:

  • camera - image pipeline design
  • display - image pipeline design
  • tone mapping and gamut mapping
  • general background image signal processing or digital signal processing
  • experience with optical or distortion correction, color imagery

Good to have skills:

  • NOT someone who can tune the image pipeline, but DESIGN
  • Understand what they are doing and why they are doing it
  • More than just tuning but Theory and Depth
  • Seeing projects through end to end
  • Systems level engineering

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use simulation tools to model end-to-end performance of display systems
  • Report analysis of these simulations to establish specifications for these display systems and ensure a successful product
  • Collaborate with the larger research team to explore concepts and drive system performance to create compelling experiences

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of several of the following:

  • µLED, OLED, LCD, LCOS, DMD, etc based displays, display metrology/calibration, image signal processing, camera ISP, display pipeline architecture, digital filters, colorimetry, color space conversions, imaging waveguides, image quality metrics, human perception.
  • Experience with image algorithm/ISP development, convolutions, Fourier transforms
  • Deep experience in MATLAB
  • BS in Engineering, Physics, Optics, Computer Science, Color Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work/education experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS in the field of Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related degree, PhD preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in research or advanced display/camera development.
