Glassboro Public Schools is seeking qualified candidates for a Full Time Computer Technician. This is a twelve-month position that reports to the Director of IT . As a computer technician, you must be well-versed in computer systems and network functions. The ideal candidate will be able to work diligently, independently, professionally, and accurately and will possess great problem-solving abilities to fix issues and ensure functionality.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide hardware and software support to all schools on multiple platforms including desktop PCs, laptops, Chromebooks, Apple devices, and other equipment and peripherals (phones, projectors, printers, SMART boards, etc.)
- Perform regular endpoint upgrades to ensure systems remain updated
- Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality
- Ability to physically repair PC's and Chromebooks as needed
- Experience with LAN/WAN Networks
- Documentation of repairs and fixes in our ticketing system
- Maintain Active Directory, MS Office and Google accounts for staff and students
- Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize computers correctly
- Assist and maintain device inventory
- Proven experience as computer technician or similar role
- Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components (Windows and Chrome OS)
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to learn and be taught necessary skills
- Very good communication abilities
- Ability to research and test solutions thoroughly
- Comfortable speaking to technical support as needed
- Exceptional organizing and time-management skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more and climb a ladder
- Associate's in computer science, engineering, or relevant field
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+) will be an advantage but not a requirement
- Criminal History background check required
- May be required to stay 1 - 2 days a month for after school for special events and board meetings
