Glassboro Public Schools is seeking qualified candidates for a Full Time Computer Technician. This is a twelve-month position that reports to the Director of IT . As a computer technician, you must be well-versed in computer systems and network functions. The ideal candidate will be able to work diligently, independently, professionally, and accurately and will possess great problem-solving abilities to fix issues and ensure functionality.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide hardware and software support to all schools on multiple platforms including desktop PCs, laptops, Chromebooks, Apple devices, and other equipment and peripherals (phones, projectors, printers, SMART boards, etc.)
  • Perform regular endpoint upgrades to ensure systems remain updated
  • Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality
  • Ability to physically repair PC's and Chromebooks as needed
  • Experience with LAN/WAN Networks
  • Documentation of repairs and fixes in our ticketing system
  • Maintain Active Directory, MS Office and Google accounts for staff and students
  • Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize computers correctly
  • Assist and maintain device inventory
  • Proven experience as computer technician or similar role
  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components (Windows and Chrome OS)
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to learn and be taught necessary skills
  • Very good communication abilities
  • Ability to research and test solutions thoroughly
  • Comfortable speaking to technical support as needed
  • Exceptional organizing and time-management skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more and climb a ladder
  • Associate's in computer science, engineering, or relevant field
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+) will be an advantage but not a requirement
  • Criminal History background check required
  • May be required to stay 1 - 2 days a month for after school for special events and board meetings
  • Reliable Transportation
