We're looking for a hands-on leader with deep knowledge of CNC programming, machining, and estimating. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, small-shop environment where quality and versatility matter. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Swiss-style turning, as well as a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for a variety of parts, with a focus on Swiss-style turning machine such as Miyanos and Citizens
- Lead quoting and cost estimating for new and existing jobs, including materials, tooling, and labor time.
- Collaborate closely with shop floor personnel to ensure accurate setups and optimal machining strategies.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications.
- Maintain organized job documentation and ensure programs are backed up and up to date.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues as they arise.
- Interface with customers and suppliers as needed during the quoting and planning process.
- Train and mentor less experienced machinists or programmers when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of CNC programming experience, including demonstrated work with Swiss-style turning centers - Miyanos, Citizen
- Strong estimating skills with the ability to assess time, materials, and processes accurately.
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
