Key Responsibilities:

  • Program and operate CNC equipment in a low-volume, high-mix environment (5+ changeovers daily).
  • Develop new programs for CNC equipment to run newly designed parts and components.
  • Analyse jobs to reduce setup times and maximize workflow.
  • Conduct machine setups efficiently.
  • Perform first-piece inspection using visual and hand inspection equipment such as Vernier callipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and programming teams for process improvements.
  • Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and pieces using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Monitor CNC operations, ensuring proper lubrication and cooling during machine operation.
  • Review program specifications or blueprints to determine operations, sequencing, dimensions, and control sequences.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • CNC programming experience.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
  • Must be able to handle heavy items up to 50 lbs, including lifting, pushing, and pulling.
  • Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • It must be reliable.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum five years' experience in a machine shop, or three years' experience if you are a vocational school graduate.
  • At least three years of experience programming CNC equipment to produce precise parts.
  • Knowledge of Haas controllers is a plus.
  • Familiarity with basic machining practices and materials is an advantage.
