HOW Computer Engineer IV WILL MAKE AN IMPACT As a Computer Engineer IV supporting the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) in Norfolk, VA, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Serve as a Team Lead to provide oversight, guidance, and technical expertise for the engineering and integration support activities associated with design, development, configuration, testing, cybersecurity, deployment, maintenance, and sustainment support of the TMIP family of Operational Medical software for NIWC
Meet with Lead Government staff and develop the plans and program schedules for the maintenance and sustainment of the Operational Medical applications
Participate and provide leadership in the analysis and resolution of tier 2 and 3 trouble calls
Provide leadership in the preparation of documentation to include system design, end user training, and systems administration
Work with the PM and other Team Leads to develop detailed project plans and provide continued updates
Identify program risks and develop mitigation plans
Work closely with the PM to provide levels of efforts, plan the schedule, and manage scope
Define and implement software engineering processes as applicable to projects
Attends government IPTs and other technical meetings WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in Computer Science Experience: 10 years of experience in computer design, software development, or computer networks (or 14 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree
5 years of technical experience in support of engineering, systems analysis, medical systems, information assurance, web development, or engineering management to include Systems/Equipment support and Test and Evaluation support of C4ISR requirements
3 years of technical experience in support of information assurance/ network protection or virtualization projects. Preferred Experience: Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following Cloud Service Provider environments:
NIWC Atlantic Data Center and Cloud Hosting Services (DC2HS), USMC Hybrid Cloud Services
USAF CloudOne Services
NIWC Pacific Cosmos Services or Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division
(NAWCAD) Digital Networks & Applications (DNA)
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Hosting services
Demonstrated experience with DevSecOps Rapid Assess and Incorporate Software Engineering version 2.0 (RAISE 2.0)
Knowledge/experience with Asana, Atlassian Suite of Tools - Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, BigPicture - Project Management Data Center for Jira Software, RedHat, Fortify Technical certifications: Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM)/Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or with customer approval a vendor/platform specific certification such as Microsoft role-based certifications, Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP), CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCSNP), CISCO Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), VMWare Certified Professional (VCP), Cloud certifications, etc. Security clearance level: Active Secret Skills and abilities: Individuals should have a deep understanding of military operational medicine and theatre medical systems to include delivery of health services in a variety of deployed environments to include amphibious assault and hospital ships
Experience configuring and maintaining TMIP-J systems on one or more of the DoD networking environments and domains to include CANES
Strong communication, problem solving and customer engagement skills
