Fairview Health Services is hiring a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist-Clinic to join our CT Scanner department at our Imaging Center location in Maplewood, MN.

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $7,500.

The CT Technologist functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing the responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (ARRT).

Schedule: This position is a 0.75FTE (60 hours worked per 2 week pay period) Typical schedule is on the day/evening shift, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 10:00AM - 8:30PM.

Responsibilities/Job Description:

Maintains and prioritizes work to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Performs excellent patient care
Performs examinations
Identifies relevant data from images accurately
Uses appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs.
Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional.
Participates in crafting a culture of patient safety.
Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness.
Verify patient identification and documentation.
Connect with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam.
Achieves quality diagnostic images through accurate patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.

Applies established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures

Ensures patient data integrity
Adheres to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures.
Accurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes.
Follows infection control guidelines
Serves as a resource for other healthcare team members.
Responds appropriately to emergent situations.
Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving.
Assesses the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substances.
Acts as a resource for problem-solving resolution.
Completed all require continuing education to uphold their imaging licensure.

Participates as an active team member

Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives.
Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position.
Cleans and maintains room and supplies
Provides coordinated services with customers and care partners to ensure high quality care and contributes to a positive work environment.

Accurately operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines

Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working accurately.
Maintains a high level of proficiency
Accepts new technology as it's introduced into the facility and participates in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations.
Qualifications:

Required:

Current Registration with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT)

Basic Life Support (BLS) - from American Red Cross or American Heart Association and current before hire date

Preferred:

1 or years of experience in a related role

Additional certifications in Imaging
