THE POSITION
We're seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Compliance Specialist to support property certification activities across a diverse portfolio. This is an 8-week 40-hour/week temporary 1099 assignment requiring daily travel to the assigned property within 60 miles.
What You Can Expect To Do
- Assist households and property staff with certification processes.
- Complete first-year certifications and recertifications.
- Review and track compliance with HUD, LIHTC, and other program requirements.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors on lease-up files (new construction & rehab).
- Enter data, maintain files, and ensure proper document filing.
- Stay up to date on federal and state affordable housing regulations.
- Provide regular updates and track key certification metrics.
What You Should Have
- 5+ years of experience completing certifications across a large property portfolio.
- Managed certification for 600+ units in multiple states and programs.
- COS designation or equivalent (BOS a plus); Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and compliance software.
- Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Must be willing to travel daily to assigned site(s) within 60 miles.
