A law firm in Austin, is seeking a qualified Complex Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with 8 years of experience in handling complex commercial litigation matters. The ideal candidate should be admitted to the Bar and possess strong litigation skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage complex commercial litigation cases from inception through resolution.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Assist in all aspects of discovery, including document review, depositions, and witness preparation.
- Analyze and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for use in the preparation of case strategies.
- Attend court hearings, arbitrations, and mediations as required.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies and tactics.
- Maintain organized case files and documentation.
- Stay current with legal developments and changes in the law relevant to complex commercial litigation.
Requirements:
- JD degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the State Bar in good standing.
- 8 years of experience in complex commercial litigation at a law firm.
- Strong understanding of civil procedure, litigation strategy, and legal research methods.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Certifications:
- JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admission to the State Bar.
Skills:
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
- Drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Conducting discovery, including depositions and witness interviews.
- Courtroom experience and trial preparation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
