Volleyball is already the most played girls' youth sport. There are 38M current and former players today. Of major sports, it's the only one that is women-first ( 90% of players are female). But the volleyball market has been almost entirely missed by traditional sports investors, brands, and media.

In this role, you will join a mission-driven, roll-up-your-sleeves team of innovators and builders who have come together to change the paradigm of professional volleyball and women's sports.
The Role: The
Community Relations Manager for
Salt Lake City will play a key role in driving awareness of LOVB, it's Pro teams and initiatives within the greater volleyball community. The new Community Relations Manager (CRM) will focus on ways to connect the community to LOVB offerings, including community activations, partnerships, ticket purchases for LOVB Pro, and supporting onsite execution related to youth engagement at LOVB Pro matches. Through strategic CRM practices and community outreach efforts, this role will help drive group ticket sales leads, deepen fan relationships, evaluate the Pro team and player's visibility in the community and increase fan loyalty both on and off the court.
The position reports to the Head of Marketing and will work internal stakeholders in marketing, event operations, club directors and coaches, as well as with external partners such as local community leaders, non-profit organizations, prospective and current LOVB fans, local event organizers and vendors and local youth and adult sports programs (recreation, adult leagues, high schools and youth volleyball clubs outside of LOVB). This position is based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Required Skills/Abilities: Volleyball Connections: LOVB Clubs, Youth Programs & Recreational Leagues Build and strengthen relationships with local youth volleyball communities - including LOVB clubs, non-LOVB clubs, high school athletic programs and youth organizations - to drive group sales and foster meaningful youth engagement. This includes planning and supporting initiatives such as Pro Academy events, open practices, clinics, mentorship opportunities and ongoing collaboration with club directors.
Community Event Engagement, Partnerships, Group Sales & Activations Support Represent LOVB at local events, activations, tournaments, and community meetings. Develop strategic partnerships with local organizations to drive awareness, deepen community engagement and curate group ticket leads in local market activities, such as open practices, fan meet-and-greets, and Pro Academy initiatives.
Season Ticket Holder Growth & Retention Support targeted outreach campaigns aimed at driving repeat engagement and growing the season ticket base. Collaborate closely with the Ticketing and Marketing teams to engage key audiences, including high school and middle school programs, as well as adult recreational leagues.
Community Programming Develop and execute community programming that strengthens the local LOVB Pro team's presence and impact, with an emphasis on expanding access to volleyball. Initiatives may include community events, kids clubs, military appreciation programs, adult recreational leagues, in-match recognitions and team-driven community service opportunities.
LOVB Crew Recruit LOVB crew members in support of the Sport and Events teams.
On-Site Event Support Ensure smooth execution of LOVB club fan engagement activities at LOVB matches, including management of the LOVB Club Kiosk and junior athlete experiences, plus the experience of youth volleyball groups attending matches.
Local Ambassadors Foster strong relationships with sports commission stakeholders and city recreation departments to ensure ongoing collaboration. Represent LOVB in local sports initiatives and community-driven events to m maintain a visible, active role in the region's athletic and civic landscape.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience: - 2-3 years experience in community relations, CRM, sales, or sports marketing with a proven track record of engaging fans and driving growth through local market initiatives
- Deep volunteer knowledge and experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build rapport with community leaders, stakeholders and fans
- Event management experience with a track record of executing successful fan activations and community-focused events
- Analytical ability to track campaign effectiveness and adjust strategies to meet engagement and conversion goals
- Expertise in utilizing social media, digital tools, and email marketing for fan outreach and engagement
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining focus on driving results
- Knowledge of CRM best practices, particularly in driving fan engagement, loyalty and conversion
- Understanding of local community dynamics, sports fandom, and the impact of grassroots marketing
- Experience navigating local government and public affairs processes, including collaboration with public stakeholders
- Demonstrated success in activating at community events, driving fan attendance and cultivating partnerships with local organizations
- Background in developing and executing outreach programs that increase customer engagement and conversion
- Familiarity with sports, entertainment or lifestyle marketing initiatives is preferred

The annual base salary for this role is $65,000-70,000 plus our comprehensive benefits package.
Salary offers are made based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. Individual pay is adjusted as performance is demonstrated and sustained at increasingly competent levels over time.
