As we continue to grow, we're seeking a passionate and organized Community Manager to help us scale our influencer and community engagement strategies both online and IRL.


Role Overview

As the Community Manager, you'll be the driving force behind our influencer marketing, community engagement, and digital activation efforts. You'll play a key role in shaping the voice of the brand across platforms, building real relationships with our fans and creators, and ensuring Hypland continues to sit at the center of culture.


Key Responsibilities


Influencer & Seeding Management

  • - Identify, research, and build relationships with influencers, creators, and streamers aligned with Hypland's brand across anime, gaming, streetwear, and pop culture communities.
  • - Organize and execute influencer seeding plans around major drops, brand moments, pop-ups, and events.
  • - Maintain a seeding calendar and track shipment status, engagement, and performance of each influencer activation.
  • - Create monthly reports on influencer campaign performance using KPIs such as reach, impressions, engagement, and conversion data.
  • - Build out a gifting tier system (A/B/C tiers) to categorize influencers by reach, fit, and value.
  • - Maintain documentation on ROI per influencer and help shape long-term influencer strategy.

Retail & Local Community Events

  • - Ideate and lead community engagement events at the Hypland Los Angeles retail store, including creator meetups, gaming tournaments, anime watch parties, and product preview events.
  • - Collaborate with marketing and ops to produce event timelines, promotional strategies, and post-event recaps with photos and measurable metrics.
  • - Cultivate ongoing feedback loops with attendees and staff to improve future events and build real community ties.
  • - Develop and manage a street team / brand ambassador program to boost in-store engagement and event attendance.

Online Activations & Digital Community Engagement

  • - Plan and host interactive events on Discord and social media (e.g., trivia nights, livestreams, contests, early access drops).
  • - Manage ongoing community activity in relevant channels like Reddit, Facebook Groups, and Discords aligned with anime/gaming/fashion interests.
  • - Measure and report on attendance, sentiment, and retention for each digital event and campaign.
  • - Build and implement CRM-style tracking for superfans and high-engagement community members.

Content Creation & Social Media Support

  • - Help coordinate photo/video content shoots for influencer campaigns, brand releases, and digital activations.
  • - Support the creative and ad teams by ensuring consistent content output for TikTok, Instagram, and paid social efforts.
  • - Assist in posting across core channels (Twitter, Instagram, TikTok) and manage content needs for TikTok Shop.

Qualifications

  • - 1-3 years experience in community management, influencer marketing, or social media coordination
  • - Deep understanding of anime, gaming, internet culture, and streetwear
  • - Highly organized and detail-oriented with multitasking skills
  • - Experienced in tracking KPIs and using basic analytics platforms (Instagram Insights, TikTok Analytics, etc.)
  • - Skilled at identifying authentic creator voices and driving real community conversations
  • - Experience managing social platforms, Discord, Reddit, or CRM-style community data is a major plus
  • - Based in LA or able to regularly commute to our Hawthorne warehouse and Little Tokyo retail store
