Summary
Install, repair, troubleshoot and maintain digital and analog microwave systems, digital paging, mobile radio/data and multiple address systems (MAS), channel banks, LAN/WAN equipment, data circuits and telephone circuits; primary call-out for all system outages and associated problems in assigned areas. Also, Facility Management and Information Resources representatives.

- Pay Range: $50,000/yr - $75,000/yr.
- Base pay may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonuses or commissions.

Responsibilities
- Install All Company Communications Systems: Digital Microwave, Fiber Optic Systems, Fiber Optic Hubs; Analog Microwave Systems; Analog & Digital Telephone PBX Systems; MAS & Point-to-Point Radio Equipment for Remote Terminal Units & System Control Automated Data Access Systems
- Read and understand engineering instructions, drawings, plans, and designs. Assemble and test equipment (using appropriate test equipment) to prepare for installation, make all necessary adjustments to ensure specifications within tolerances required.
- During routine site visits or emergency/non-emergency call-outs, identify problem by assessing situation, isolating problem, performing tests using sophisticated, hi-tech equipment, computers and software and determine appropriate repair/replacement procedures.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all systems by testing equipment during regularly scheduled site visits or during problem call-outs. Ensure all equipment is operating within the specifications of federal requirements and operating properly. Order parts from vendors or manufacturer. Repair or replace any defective or faulty equipment and perform all necessary testing for compliance. Switch to generator backup to ensure system operations during planned maintenance.
- Maintain all logs and records required by federal and state agencies; work with/make decisions on appropriate vendors and contractors for equipment orders and job fulfillment.
Requirements
- An associate degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering, computer networking, or related discipline. OR equivalent experience in DC and AC electronics; digital electronics; electronic communications; network communications; LAN/WAN technologies; analog, digital, and IP-based voice systems; radio; and microwave
- In-depth knowledge of FCC rules and regulations; electronics (analog and digital principles), digital and analog microwave radio systems (multiple address systems, point-to-point, digital paging, and two-way).
- 3 years' experience and knowledge of electronics and electrical power, mechanical principles, wide band FM radio systems, LAN/WAN and data cabling systems, CSU/DSU routers and hubs, grounding system architectures, primary and basic rate Integrated System Data Network (ISDN) and data telecommunications, engineering and design, reliability and performance.
- Computer diagnostic skills.
- A valid driver's license and personal vehicle to meet the company's requirement for driving.
- Ability to obtain General Radiotelephone Operator's License (Elements 1 and 3) within the first six months of employment.
- This position may require unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigation.
