Position: Communications Security Representative

Our client is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Communications Security (COMSEC) Representative to join their team. This critical role involves managing COMSEC items, overseeing crypto key management systems (CKMS), and performing security custodian functions to protect sensitive classified and unclassified data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in COMSEC operations, working within SAP environments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant government regulations and policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in conducting mandatory semi-annual COMSEC inventories, ensuring the accountability of all sensitive equipment and materials.
• Support the preparation of user guidance for the proper protection, handling, accountability, and other classified or restricted records and materials.
• Ensure that secure communications equipment and materials are properly accounted for, transferred, safeguarded, controlled, and destroyed according to government regulations and policies.
• Act as a liaison and Subject Matter Expert (SME) between military organizations, government agencies, and various internal teams, ensuring all COMSEC requirements are met.
• Coordinate with government agencies to obtain rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations as required.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of Emergency Action Plans, ensuring customization of plans based on relevant applications.
• Ensure inspection readiness at all times, assisting field sites and participating in government and self-reviews.
• Provide support to other COMSEC accounts as needed, maintaining overall compliance and security standards.
• Perform other industrial security-related duties as assigned. Qualifications:
• Proven experience requesting and receiving keying material via Over-the-air Transfer (OTAT) for SAP.
• Expertise in the identification, procurement, installation, software upgrades, and configuration of encryption devices, along with troubleshooting communication disruptions in critical SAP networks.
• Previous experience working within Special Access Program (SAP) environments.
• Hands-on experience working with COMSEC accounts.
• Strong knowledge of COMSEC policies, including NSA or service-related guidelines and requirements.
• Due to the nature of the work, an active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
• Candidate must consent to a Counterintelligence Polygraph as part of the clearance process. Selected candidate will be subject to a post offer background check and must be able to maintain a Secret-level DoD security clearance.
