FISD is the global forum of the financial information industry and a division of the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA). With 300 member firms - from global exchanges to cutting-edge fintech startups - we serve as the preeminent association connecting the people, technology, and standards behind market data and produce the biennial World Financial Information Conference (WFIC), the premiere global market data conference.
We are seeking a Communications Manager or Director , depending on experience, to lead and optimize FISD's communications across global markets. You'll shape how our members hear from us - through newsletters, event promotion, social media, and strategic campaigns - and help ensure our digital presence reflects the strength of our worldwide community.
Function
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, FISD, the Communications Professional is responsible for ensuring the quality, completeness, and reliable delivery of communications to FISD's global membership. The Professional manages communications across a variety of media and contributes to the data quality of the FISD contact database. The successful candidate may be hired at a Manager or Director based on the following general criteria:
- Director level: Broad responsibility to optimize FISD's messaging and branding across its communication channels, activities and conferences. The Director identifies needs and opportunities and addresses them. Deep knowledge of communication best practices and experience dealing with senior leadership and important external clients. Ability to design and implement projects or campaigns with limited oversight. Demonstrated ability to strategically improve the FISD-member experience through their ideas and expertise.
- Manager level: Substantial experience implementing and managing communications functions, projects, and campaigns with strong tactical expertise that can be deployed with strategic direction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Communication
Enhance FISD's social media presence through media like LinkedIn
Manage mass email programs for FISD events and other member notices
Manage and produce the Monthly Newsletter and Monthly Calendar communications
Develop communication materials and event graphics for FISD events
Grow FISD revenue streams through development of promotional communications
Director level:
- Report on KPIs and distill trends to program managers
- Oversee programs to maximize deliverability of FISD communications
- Provide strategic recommendations on FISD communication and social media activities
- Monitor and evaluate communication media and tools (e.g., event apps, CMS, graphics tools, etc.) to identify opportunities to improve FISD's performance
- Develop FISD interest groups and manage development of activities and content for such groups.
Database Management
- Contribute to overall Division database management standards and practices
- Identify data quality needs and address by developing and executing data quality projects
- Update Division member accounts and contacts as needed
Website Management
Participate in creation and maintenance of the FISD website and update of program pages for FISD events globally
Director level:
- Enhance web presence in line with best SEO, UX and ADA practices
Event Support
- Ensure that all online materials related to each event are useful, accurate, and up-to-date
- Manage pre- and post-event communications and documents - slides, agenda, posting of speakers' slides to web site
- Handle integration of sponsor materials and branding
- Manage selection, onboarding, and operation of conference apps
- Develop, distribute, and analyze program evaluations
- Support FISD events onsite as needed

Minimum Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree and/or least five years business experience (eight years for Director)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders, solve problems and schedule work effectively
- Microsoft Office
- Exceptional organizational, oral and written communication skills
- Regular travel domestically and internationally
The ideal candidate, especially for Director will have:
- CRM experience (Dynamix, Salesforce)
- CMS experience (e.g., WordPress)
- Experience with a Social Media strategy and scheduling system (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer or Hubspot)
- Google Analytics experience
- Graphics experience (e.g., Canva and/or Adobe Suite)
- Deep familiarity with social media platforms and LinkedIn
- Video editing experience
- SurveyMonkey experience
- Project management experience
