Communications & Development Coordinator - New Orleans, LA
Salary: $45,000-$50,000 DOE Full Benefits M-F Schedule + Some Weekends & On-Call
We're seeking a creative and organized Communications & Development Coordinator to support a mission-driven organization in New Orleans. This full-time, benefits-eligible role includes occasional weekend events and on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Communications:
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns for admissions, events, public relations, and fundraising.
- Design and maintain marketing collateral to ensure brand consistency and relevance.
- Manage digital content: website updates, social media posts and ads, newsletters, and urgent alerts.
Fundraising & Development Support:
- Assist with grant writing, annual fund campaigns, donor outreach, and event-based fundraising efforts.
- Support major gifts, planned giving, and business partnerships.
Event Planning & Community Engagement:
- Coordinate logistics and marketing for on- and off-campus events.
- Represent the organization at external functions and public presentations.
- Organize and manage volunteers for events and campaigns.
Media & Creative Assets:
- Capture and archive photos and videos from events and campus activities.
- Design promotional materials and digital presentations.
- Maintain release records and manage signage, AV, and display needs.
Administrative & Operations Support:
- Oversee department communications, inquiries, and filing systems.
- Manage billing, budgeting, and database organization.
- Operate the Spirit Store, including inventory and promotions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 1+ year in an office setting
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- Self-directed, efficient, and team-oriented
Preferred Qualifications:
- Office management or nonprofit experience
- Background in marketing, event planning, or fundraising
- Photography and video production experience
- Familiarity with social media management
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or willingness to learn
