Guidehouse is seeking a Communications Specialist to support information technology (IT) security communications initiatives for the Department of State (DOS). This position will be responsible for performing and coordinating a range of communications and related tasks as part of a program management support team. The individual must possess a high level of experience consulting for the federal government and be proficient at framing, developing, reviewing, and presenting communications deliverables to senior-level clients with minimal supervision. The individual must also be well informed on current IT security issues and relevant federal requirements and regulations. Regular responsibilities include communications planning and coordination, speech writing, performing technical writing and editing of contract deliverables, and developing templates to address contract deliverables and system gate reviews. The individual will provide a variety of program management responsibilities and a willingness to be flexible in supporting numerous work products and deliverables, which may include meeting support, process documentation, and development of organizational communications documents of varying types. Responsibilities of this role are as follows, to include but not limited to: Perform technical writing and editing and collaborate with SMEs to develop IT security communications deliverables.

Establish and manage formal communications functions and processes for a Front Office team including office communications plan, SOPs and guidelines, executive engagements, and DOS correspondence.
Coordinate the planning, development, review, and dissemination of organizational communications relevant to the implementation of IT security guidance and solutions including DOS strategies, programs, policies, and processes.
Assist in the drafting and editing of data call responses to Congress, federal agencies, and DOS senior leaders.
In consultation with DOS communications teams, organize, manage, and develop content for internal and external engagements including client media engagements.
Leverage attention to detail, flexibility, and initiative in managing assignments to adapt to quickly changing client priorities and ad hoc requests.
Consistently deliver high-quality services and deliverables to clients. What You Will Need : An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance
Bachelor's degree
FIVE (5) or more years of experience consulting for the federal government with THREE (3) of those years' in strategic communications
Excellent written (including technical writing) and oral communication skills
Experience presenting information/leading meetings and working directly with senior-level clients
Experience preparing documents for final delivery or publication including an ability to conduct quality assurance and quality control
Experience with progress tracking, reporting, and coordinating tasks across all phases of development and delivery
Ability to apply fundamental cybersecurity concepts to tasks and projects What Would Be Nice To Have : An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED TOP SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance
Security+ certification
Experience coordinating, drafting, reviewing, editing, and preparing for submission Congressional, interagency, and DOS communications documents of varying types and formats (Congressional testimony and Q&A; federal reporting documents and inquiry responses; DOS memos, policies, and talking points; etc.)
Experience working in the Department of State or another Federal government agency environment a plus
Understanding of technical cybersecurity concepts, frameworks, policies, strategies, and federal requirements
Advanced familiarity with Microsoft Office, project management, and team management skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and switch between tasks quickly
Passion for continuous learning The annual salary range for this position is $113,000.00-$188,000.00.
