United States Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company The Underwriting team consists of analysts performing manual reviews of originations, increases, high-risk triggered accounts sourced by our data science team, and annual reviews of our highest credit exposures. Join our Underwriting team and play a pivotal role in executing strategic and operational initiatives. As a vital member of our team, you'll support our underwriting team in managing and growing our Spend & Expense (formally Divvy) portfolio. Your responsibilities will include assessing customer financials to provide a recommendation or approval of new or increased credit exposures. We're seeking a candidate with a strong background in underwriting of financial statements, a strong business acumen, and a customer-centric mindset. The ideal candidate will have the ability to thrive both independently and within a small yet dynamic team. Analyze and underwrite exposures based on financial statement analysis and other predictive models. Participate in the development and maintenance of credit strategies, processes, and procedures From time to time, participate in exploratory discussions with customers to understand the company's financial position to help facilitate credit decisions. Conduct periodic reviews to properly manage the companys risk profile. Communicate with senior risk management to arrive at credit decisions when necessary. Complete financial spreading when necessary. Learn/utilize programming languages to improve efficiency, manage losses, and uncover potential within the portfolio Wed love to chat if you have: 2-3+ years experience underwriting at a financial institution as a commercial credit analyst or underwriter, or similar experience in dealing with commercial exposures ranging from small business or middle-market to large, multinational institutions (typical deal sizes ranging from $250,000 to $1 million) Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or statistics (graduate degree a plus) Understanding of fundamental financial analysis Comfort with GAAP accounting standards Understanding of current macroeconomic trends and how to provide recommendations to improve the Probability of Default estimation based on the business cycle Self-Starter: Ability to manage personal workload so this person must prioritize and execute on a plan to complete exposure reviews to meet turnaround times. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed below. The estimated salary ranges noted below roles in the specific geographic zones Zone 1- San Francisco Bay Area CA (includes HQ), Boston, New York City, Seattle, Los Angeles city $79,000 - $94,600 USD Zone 2- CA (Non San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles City), Austin TX, Massachusetts (Non Boston) $71,100 - $85,200 USD Zone 3 -Utah (includes Utah office), Houston TX, Florida, North Carolina $67,200 - $80,400 USD
