Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Restaurant Maintenance Technician located in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI. The Restaurant Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and executing repairs on a variety of commercial kitchen equipment. The technician will ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and will work proactively to prevent potential disruptions to restaurant operations. Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on a wide range of commercial kitchen equipment (eg, ovens, grills, fryers, refrigerators, ice machines, etc).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions efficiently and accurately.
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
- Execute necessary repairs and replacements of faulty components.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Communicate effectively with restaurant staff regarding equipment status and maintenance schedules.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge, including potential factory training through our Welbilt Factory Authorized Servicer status.
- Travel to various restaurant locations within a reasonable service area.
Qualifications
- Proven skills in equipment maintenance and industrial maintenance
- Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
- Solid experience in preventive maintenancemaintenance, and repair of commercial equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with colleagues and clients.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- A proactive and safety-conscious approach to all tasks.
Bonus Points (Not Required)
- Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Relevant certifications or vocational training in maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related field.
- Experience servicing Welbilt brands such as Frymaster, Garland, Manitowoc, Beverage Air, Amana, Multiplex, Carpegiani, Cleveland, and Convotherm.
