Commercial Foreclosure Legal Assistant
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Practice Group: Bankruptcy & Restructuring
Are you an organized and detail-oriented legal professional looking for a dynamic role in a fast-paced environment? Our Pittsburgh office is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice group, where you will play a key role in supporting attorneys and paralegals in commercial foreclosure matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys and paralegals in foreclosure proceedings.
- Assist with drafting, formatting, and proofreading legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Manage case files and maintain accurate records in compliance with firm policies and court requirements.
- Coordinate court filings (electronic and physical) and ensure timely submission of documents.
- Liaise with courts, clients, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progress.
- Monitor deadlines and case calendars to ensure timely responses and filings.
- Prepare, review, and process foreclosure-related documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Utilize PACER to search dockets, retrieve party information, and download pleadings.
- Work with CaseMax or similar case management platforms to organize and track case progress.
- Navigate state filings and county prothonotary websites for document retrieval and submissions.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three (3) or more years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a related legal field.
- Experience using PACER to search dockets, retrieve filings, and manage case information.
- Familiarity with CaseMax or similar case management platforms.
- Experience with state filings and various county prothonotary websites.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with attorneys, clients, and court personnel.
- Solid writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and manage multiple priorities.
