Job Summary: Wilkinson Chevrolet Cadillac GMC is seeking a motivated and reliable Body Shop Technician Apprentice to assist our skilled technicians in the repair and maintenance of vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the automotive body repair trade and grow within a dynamic and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess a strong work ethic, and be eager to learn and contribute to the team's success.
Responsibilities: - Assist Body Shop Technicians with various tasks, including but not limited to:
- Preparing vehicles for repair by removing parts, masking, and cleaning.
- Disassembling and reassembling vehicle components.
- Sanding, filling, and priming vehicle surfaces.
- Moving vehicles within the shop and to designated areas.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Organizing and retrieving parts.
- Assisting with basic repairs under the direct supervision of a technician.
- Operating shop equipment safely and efficiently.
- Following all safety procedures and protocols.
- Other duties as assigned by the Body Shop Manager or technicians.
Qualifications: -
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a body shop or automotive environment is a plus, but not required.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Excellent work ethic and punctuality.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
