Working Hours and/or Working Conditions: The dates for this position are May 19th through June 30th 2025. Students who plan to return for the Fall semester can utilize funds beyond 6/30 through 8/3, however, they will need to provide notice that they plan to attend MCC during the Fall semester. WORKING CONDITIONS:Located on South Campus. Must be able to travel to Center Campus on occasion too. Potential to work weekends and/or evening for events.PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Must be able to stand and walk around campus and events to capture and participate in social media contentHOURS: 10 - 15 hours a week
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge- Active on major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn)Skill- Strong communication, sociable and interpersonal skills.Ability- Must be comfortable speaking in front of a camera, either by yourself or with other students on campus or at events.
Supervision: SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Supervision received from Director of Marketing. May take direction from Social Media Specialist. SUPERVISION GIVEN: None.

Job Function

This position supports the college's Social Media Marketing team in promoting the college's brand through social media platforms. This position provides hands-on experience in social content creation. The ideal candidate is creative, self-motivated and passionate about social media marketing.

- a current student at Macomb Community College taking AT LEAST 6 credit hours
-currently have a work-study award given by Financial Aid If you have not received an award or are not sure, fill out and submit this form and contact with questions.

Job Responsibilities

Located primarily at South Campus unless otherwise stated by the department.

• Attend campus events to capture content for social media platforms
• Participate in on-camera appearances for social media content
• Assist in brainstorming content ideas and ways to increase user engagement
• Assist in researching industry best practices, trends and emerging social media platforms

Education

High school graduate. Currently enrolled as a Macomb Community College student. Relevant course work and an interest in marketing/social media is preferred.
Qualifications

Prior experience working as a social media assistant or coordinator, is preferable, but not necessary.
