Purpose:

The College of Fine Arts Dean's Office is seeking a Student Assistant to support the Dean's Office Front Desk for Summer 2025. Student Assistants will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of The College of Fine Arts Dean's Office. They will be the first line-of-contact, welcoming and directing all visitors. In addition, this position provides essential administrative support to the Dean's Office.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the front desk receptionist, greeting visitors and managing incoming calls for the Dean's Office.
  • Perform general clerical duties such as filing, scanning, copying, labeling, and data entry.
  • Support event logistics, including setup, staffing, guest services, and document distribution.
  • Maintain office and kitchen supplies through regular inventory checks and restocking.
  • Assist with building upkeep tasks such as cleaning whiteboards, furniture, and bulletin boards.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be a University of Texas at Austin student, enrolled for at least 6 credit hours.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Work-Study award for the semester.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the College of Fine Arts.
  • Experience with customer service.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Hourly Rate:
  • $12.00
Working Conditions:
  • Work performed in standard office conditions.
  • Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation.
Schedule Work Shift:
  • Up to 12 hours per week
  • Position ends on 08/15/25 with possibility to extend.
  • Rehire eligible based on performance.
