Job Summary
Collaborate with school districts to promote a college-going culture and facilitate the recruitment, enrollment and success while still in high school. Under the direction of the Coordinator of Student Recruitment- High School Relations, this individual works to increase recruitment activities for parents and students as early as middle school and through high school for the various dual programs. Responsible for proactive individualized involvement in driving students' success through a case management approach. The position will contribute to student retention and completion strategies in collaboration with student, their family, and high school counselor
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provides comprehensive support for all dual enrollment activities, including recruitment, admissions, and retention in collaboration with the ISO, Charter, and Private Schools.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with middle and secondary school counselors and faculty.
• Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Student Recruitment-High School Relations and in collaboration with the school counselors. This role will organize and make presentations to their designated middle schools and secondary schools serviced by TSC on all available Dual Programs.
• Assist school counselors in the development of short and long-range plans for the retention of dual enrollment students to meet the ISO, Charter, and Private School requirements.
• In collaboration with the Coordinator of Student Recruitment- High School Relations, the Executive Director of Strategic Enrollment, and the Executive Director of High School Programs this role will work as a liaison between TSC, and the assigned middle schools and secondary schools to inform on pathways related to the ISO, Charter, and Private schools curriculum.
• Meet with potential new dual enrollment students, parents, and school counselor(s), distribute dual enrollment information, respond to questions daily while stationed at the middle and or secondary school.
• Travel 80% of the week in and outside TSC service area to designated middle schools and secondary schools serviced by TSC for visits with dual students, school counselors, and parents.
• Must have valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation with state required insurance.
• Travel for recruitment of middle and secondary students in and outside TSC service area that may take place on evenings or weekends.
• Act as liaison between school counselor and the Office of Admissions and Records to escalate issues on behalf of students participating in Dual Programs, such as transcript evaluations, complete withdrawals, and enrollment appeals.
• Maintain accountability for meeting FERPA and other relevant federal, state, College's student records directives and procedures.
• Processes documents to complete admissions process for a defined caseload of dual students.
• Utilizes reports through the Target X CRM system to communicate with school counselors about recruitment efforts and of eligibility to participate in Dual Programs.
• Advises students continuously during weekly visits, informs them of academic progression, and communicates with them about faculty concerns utilizing the STARFISH system.
• Maintains updated via reports from STARFISH of faculty concerns in a timely manner and provides these updates to the school counselor in a timely manner.
• Plans the students throughout their four years in high school using the Self-Service platform and guides them in understanding how to register during their designated registration period.
• Solves issues related to the enrollment process, and reviews student's enrollment requirements and degree audits. Assists students with identifying college resources that will be able to assist them in being successful.
• In collaboration with school counselors prepare secondary students for graduation from TSC, enroll at TSC upon graduating from secondary school, or conduct one-on-one meetings with the students to understand the value of reverse transfer.
• Conducts one-on-one or group meetings with prospective students and/or parents to disseminate college information at the middle or secondary institution in collaboration with school counselor(s).
• Creates and conducts yearly training for school counselors with the guidance of the Coordinator of Student Recruitment - High School Relations.
• Creates and conducts meetings and workshops for at-risk students and their parents to understand the implications of earned and attempted credits after high school.
• Assesses dual student needs, goals, interest and prior academic experiences to guide students in the design and implementation of a successful academic career plan.
• Understands how to interpret high school transcript and test scores for placement purpose in dual programs.
• With approval from Coordinator of Student Recruitment - High School relations, creates and maintains marketing material for their assigned middle and secondary schools to update of any changes involving Dual Programs.
• Understands the districts dual program pathways relevant to individual ISD's.
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite.
• Completes duties and responsibilities in compliance with college standards, policies and guidelines.
• Uses interpersonal skills and makes sound judgments to decide how duties and responsibilities are completed between coworkers, the supervisory chain, faculty, staff, students, and customers.
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored by Texas Southmost College (TSC).
• Supports the values and institutional goals as defined in the College's Strategic Plan.
• Working hours may include evenings, holidays or weekends depending on deadline requirements and special events.
• Serves on committees as appropriate and as appointed by supervisor.
• Promotes positive morale and teamwork within the department and provides exceptional customer service to students, faculty and community.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the education and experience required.
• Associate's degree from an accredited college with three (3) years of direct experience in recruitment, advising, admissions, records, and outreach or related field in a community college university or background in secondary or middle school dual outreach and advising.
• Ability to make presentations to small and large groups. Ability to analyze data and communicate findings clearly verbally and written to counselors, faculty and staff.
• Must have experience working effectively in a team environment with a customer service focus.
Preferred Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with one (1) year of direct experience working in the recruitment, advising, admissions, records, outreach or related field in a community college, university or background in secondary or middle school dual outreach and advising.
• Ability to make presentations to large groups, analyze data, communicate findings clearly, verbally and written to counselors, faculty and staff.
• Must have experience working effectively in a team environment with a customer service focus.
• Bilingual in English-Spanish.va
