SummaryThis person will help lead, coordinate, and facilitate opportunities and experiences for students as they enter high school, and then become more fully prepared for the transition from high school to postsecondary opportunities. This position plays a vital role in executing the vision and mission of the district, and we are seeking a highly motivating and encouraging person to fill this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Maintain high expectations for all students while creating a positive and productive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, college and career advisor, Instructional Coach, and administration to continually refine and create curriculum and resources to support students in this course.
- Work closely with the college and career advisor and the building counseling department to serve the needs of students taking this course.
- Communicate and collaborate with students and families regarding the experiences, opportunities, and outcomes provided through these courses.
- Effectively model professionalism and high efficacy to all students in the course.
- Effectively model skills and characteristics such as time management, appropriate self-advocacy, decision-making, collaboration, communication, integrity, interpersonal relationships, and verbal and written communication.
- Effectively guide students in creating and writing resumes, completing college applications, applying for jobs or scholarships, practicing and executing job interview skills, etc
- In collaboration with the college and career advisor and school counseling department, organize and execute mock job interviews, career fairs, college visits, etc
- Attend building and district meetings as assigned and needed.
- Network with other professionals to grow opportunities for students.
- Completes all other duties as assigned.
Supervisory DutiesThis individual will complete supervision duties as assigned by the administration. Additionally, this individual will be expected to actively participate in a building committee of their choosing or as assigned by the administration.
QualificationsEducation/Experience Bachelor's Degree in Education Required
Secondary experience preferred
Knowledge of updated practices for college and career readiness preferred
Knowledge of competency-based learning preferred
Leadership experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid Missouri Teaching Certification
Skills and AbilitiesMust have the ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, board policy, administrative procedures/forms, and government regulations and guidelines. Must be able to complete forms, write reports, and engage in written correspondence with parents.
Must have the ability to write clearly and complete lesson plans.
Must have a desire to support and carry out the school's mission, vision, values, and goals.
Must have a desire to work with the administration to improve student success and teachers fulfillment.
Must be student-centered, data-driven, and results-oriented.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, and get along with all personalities.
Computation The individual must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to apply knowledge of current educational theory and instructional techniques while presenting subject matter to students.
Technology The individual must understand basic computer functions such as word processing and internet use. Will be using district software for recording grades and finding student information. This person must be able to utilize smart boards, projectors, and other instructional technology provided by the district.
Additional Skills and Abilities This individual should have the ability to identify needs of individual students and adapt instructional methods accordingly. The ability to multi-task and work closely with others are essential; as well as good leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
