Overview of the Collections Specialist role: - Contact customers via phone, email, and mail to collect on overdue accounts
- Negotiate payment plans, document collections efforts, and maintain records of overdue accounts
- Build positive customer relations while resolving payment issues and collecting overdue payments
- Research and resolve discrepancies and apply payments to customer accounts
- Improve collection processes and procedures where necessary
- Escalate accounts with outstanding balances for additional and legal action as necessary
Preferred Qualifications for the Collections Specialist: - Minimum three years of experience in a collections role
- Familiarity with a major ERP software, proficiency with formulas in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with customers while maintaining professionalism and collecting on overdue accounts
The Collections Specialist role is fully onsite in South Bend, Indiana.
The annual salary is $41,600 - $47,840 depending on experience.
