Collection Specialist in
Lakewood, CA.As an
Collections Specialist you will:
- Monitor customer accounts to identify outstanding balances and initiate contact via phone and email.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers to collect overdue payments, explain account status, and offer payment options.
- Maintain accurate logs of all communications and payment arrangements.
- Notify management of customers exhibiting financial risk indicators.
- Research, reconcile, and resolve open items and unapplied credits in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the sales and internal teams to resolve order issues and discrepancies.
- Provide timely reports and summaries on collection activity and status of overdue balances.
- Stay compliant with commercial collection laws, GAAP, and SOX requirements.
This is a
full-time opportunity Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm open to overtime.
The ideal candidate will have
Mandatory Skills:- A high school diploma or equivalent (post-high school education in Accounting or Finance preferred).
- 1 3+ years of experience in collections or a related role, preferably in a high-volume commercial/wholesale environment.
- Knowledge of commercial collection laws and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- ERP system experience preferred (NetSuite a plus).
Pay Rate: $22.00 - 25.00 per hour Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
