The Director of Business Intelligence will be responsible for planning and overseeing our Deltek Costpoint product reporting DataCall. This hands-on role encompasses all aspects product management, Cognos report writing and client delivery.
BlueStreet is in search of a skilled and experienced full-time Cognos Report Developer to lead reporting development projects to support client reporting needs and our DataCall product. We offer a flexible work environment, including a remote or remote/office hybrid option in our Northern Virginia office. This leader will own and manage our DataCall product line that leverages Cognos within Deltek Costpoint.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: - Design and maintain configuration management of BlueStreets reporting product DataCall and DataCall Lite
- Work with report users to define and document requirements for new reports/queries and modifications to existing reports/queries both within DataCall and Custom requirements
- Edit, update, and troubleshoot existing reports
- Develop and maintain Cognos reports with Deltek Costpoint modules
- Manage report security and report distribution
- Maintain DataCall demo Database
- Conduct product demonstrations as needed.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and apply data visualization and user interface best practices
- Develop application-specific reports using Cognos
- Generate and maintain administrator and user documentation, including training, reference materials, and implantation documentation.
- Support technical upgrades through testing and troubleshooting prior to application system changes
- Provide skills and knowledge transfer to employees in applicable areas
- Provide outstanding customer service to company personnel
QUALIFICATIONS: - BA/BS preferred, with 3-10 years of experience with Cognos reporting and development
- 3+ years BI Report writing experience with Deltek Cognos Reports; expert at writing new and editing existing reports using Cognos Analytics 10 or 11 with the Deltek CER framework.
- Experience with SQL development
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to communicate with users to design, develop, and implement new reporting solutions and changes to existing designs based on unique requirements
- Must have excellent attention to detail
- Analytical and independent problem-solving skills
- Organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
- Exceptional time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical results/scenarios in a clear and concise fashion.
- Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, take initiative, meet deadlines, and acquire and apply technical skills, as necessary.
