Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IBM Mainframe COBOL Developer with at least 7 years of professional IT experience in application development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and supporting service-oriented applications using Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). This role involves designing, integrating, and enhancing systems that support financial service lines, as well as resolving production issues in a multi-platform environment. Experience in migrating from SOAP to REST, working with WebSphere SOA, and interfacing with distributed technologies is essential.
Key Responsibilities: - Application Development & Design: Research, design, develop, integrate, enhance, and support service-oriented application system projects using Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Technical Solutions: Develop technical designs based on functional requirements and provide technical solutions for integration layers within the SOA stack to support financial service lines.
- Unit Testing & Integration: Perform unit testing and integration of layers based on the WebSphere SOA stack.
- Production Support: Research and resolve problems that occur in production environments, ensuring smooth operations.
- Migration & Maintenance: Prepare detailed design for COBOL/Mainframe/Web Services/MQ code for SOAP to REST migration and support various maintenance projects and bug fixes.
- Multi-Platform Knowledge: Leverage knowledge of multi-platform environments, including APIs and microservices development, using Java Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
- Interface with Distributed Technologies: Work with and interface with distributed technologies like IBM DataPower, WESB, and IIB.
Required Qualifications: - Minimum 7 years of experience in IBM Mainframe COBOL/DB2/CICS development.
- At least 1 year of experience with Web services (REST/SOAP), XML, and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Proficient in DB2, Native Stored Procedures, CICS, Batch, JCL, VSAM, QMF, TSO/ISPF, BMC products, Abend-Aid, FileAid, Changman, Xpeditor, and ZOSConnect.
- Experience in designing and developing integration layers within SOA.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in production environments.
- Working knowledge of APIs, microservices development using Java Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications: - Banking industry experience is a plus.
- Experience working with/interfacing with distributed technologies such as IBM DataPower, WESB, or IIB is a plus.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in IBM Mainframe technologies, SOA, or Java frameworks (preferred but not required).
Education: Bachelors Degree
