ROLE IMPACT
Contribute to high-spec aerospace component preparation by performing precision surface treatment and coating operations. This critical role ensures performance coatings are applied to exacting standards through a combination of peening, blasting, and plasma spray techniques. KEY DUTIES
• Apply masking templates using rubber covers and tape as per operation sheets
• Perform progressive grit blasting (60 or 120 grit) and vapor blasting using compound wet abrasives
• Set up parts for bake-out and surface prep per coating requirements
• Apply bond coat/topcoat through multi-pass plasma spray processes
• Conduct pencil grit blast and rough clean operations to manually remove overspray
• Perform shot peening prior to plasma coating for surface conditioning
• Only assigned operators with verified plasma spray experience will conduct spraying tasks
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in coating or paint booth operations
• Familiarity with masking, grit blast prep, and manual or machine-aided surface treatments
• Demonstrated ability to follow detailed operation sheets and quality standards
EQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Tools: Grit blast machines, vapor blast fixtures, plasma spray units, manual grit blasters
• Worksite: Clean, enclosed spray and prep environments
• Materials: Aerospace components and coating compounds
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Prior plasma spray coating experience
• Background in paint booth environments
• Surface prep for aerospace components
