SUMMARY: The CNC Programmer/Technician has a comprehensive understanding of all CNC machining and programming operations. Works closely with machining, engineering design and manufacturing team and quality. Able to work behind a desk and on the floor assisting other operators. Able to take on tasks of CNC set up/machining and prototyping as well.
Essential Functions Reads and interprets technical blueprints and design models. Analyzes drawings, 3D models, and specifications, accurately interpreting the requirements necessary
Uses CAD/CAM program to program CNC parts and provide set-up sheets considering safety and affordability. The programming duties are primarily focused on the goal of getting the prototype parts to the customer in the most time critical manner. Creating efficient processes for Production Parts is secondary.
Tests new technology, performs first article inspection, fixture design, and day to day programming
Meets expectations for productivity and production goals. Have programs available in a timely manner that do not cause production delays
Inputs the product design into the computer modeling software.
Troubleshoots issues during the manufacturing process.
Makes suggestions on design and process changes to improve manufacturability.
Performs these and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience: High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 3 years' previous work experience as a CNC programmer, particularly with Autodesk: Fusion 360 CAM , Inventor (nesting and CAM)
Familiarity with Haas, Okuma, and Mazak machines preferred.
Practical machine shop, fabrication and tooling training or apprenticeship
Ability to read and interpret design blueprints.
Extensive experience with computer modeling software
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and stick to a deadline.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work after-hours when required.
