CNC Programmer
Job Summary: s a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing CNC machine programs to produce high-quality precision parts and components. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure that all programs meet design specifications and manufacturing requirements. Your role will involve programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining CNC equipment to achieve efficient and accurate production.
Key Responsibilities: - Program Development:
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for a variety of machines, including mills, lathes, and routers.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to develop programs that meet part requirements.
- Machine Setup and Operation:
- Set up CNC machines, including installation and calibration of tooling, workholding, and fixtures.
- Conduct trial runs and adjust programs as needed to ensure correct part dimensions and quality.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to CNC programs, machinery, and tooling.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
- Quality Assurance:
- Monitor the production process and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Make adjustments to programs and machine settings to correct any deviations from specifications.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with engineers, machinists, and other team members to address production challenges and implement process improvements.
- Provide training and support to machine operators on new programs and procedures.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of program changes, machine settings, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare reports on program performance, machine downtime, and production metrics.
Qualifications: - Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or an associate degree in CNC programming, machining, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in CNC programming and machine operation, with a strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in using CNC programming software (e.g., GibbsCAM, Mastercam, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and material properties.
