PRIMARY PURPOSE: The CNC Programmer is responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs to efficiently produce precision parts. This role involves working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure that all parts meet exact specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming, a deep understanding of machining processes, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly. This operator is proficient in reading blueprints, following work instructions and can work both alone and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for various machining operations, including milling, turning, and grinding.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to create accurate and efficient CNC programs.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for different materials and operations.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and refine manufacturing processes
- Perform regular duties in the machine shop, including operating a variety of machines and hand tools.
- Conduct trial runs and make necessary adjustments to ensure the accuracy and quality of machined parts
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining and programming issues to minimize downtime and ensure production efficiency.
- Maintain and update CNC program libraries, ensuring all programs are documented and stored correctly.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all programming and machining activities.
- Continuously improve programming techniques and machining processes to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Train and support machine operators on the proper use of CNC programs and machining techniques.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure finished products meet high standards.
- Other duties or special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Proficient in CNC programming and operation.
- Positive, self-motivated attitude and the ability to operate under own initiative
- Flexible approach to work and the ability to quickly adapt to change
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining principles.
- Strong computer and mathematical skills.
